KNOWLEDGE · SERVICE MODEL

One Mandate. The Entire Journey.

The family office model was developed for fortunes exceeding what one individual can reasonably manage independently. We apply this core principle to every client – regardless of the current portfolio size.

NORDIC ESTATES ASSET MANAGEMENT A/S
- DEFINITION

Not a manager. An office.

A family office distinguishes itself from a wealth manager by coordinating every aspect of a client's financial life: investments, tax, legal structure, insurance, generational transfer, philanthropy. With us, every step is covered internally or through a fixed network of trusted partners – lawyers, accountants, tax advisors – who report to our partner team, not to the client.

Why a Player Needs a Family Office

The common assumption is that the family office structure is for fortunes in the three-figure millions. This is correct for institutional multi-family offices operating on that scale. However, for a player, the need is different: not scale, but complexity and time constraints.

An active player has no realistic opportunity to coordinate meetings with a solicitor, accountant, bank, property manager, insurance broker, and tax advisor independently – especially not during a season with 50 matches, training camps, and international travel. The family office model centralises the entire apparatus at one point with one responsible partner, allowing the client to draw upon the complete network with a single phone call.

This is the service every client receives from day one – whether the portfolio currently consists of one property or six.

What Daily Life Looks Like for the Client

In practice, the family office model means that the client has one dedicated partner team that answers everything from 'I’ve received a strange invoice' to 'my agent has sent me a contract'. Questions are addressed via the channel the client prefers – typically an encrypted messaging app, supplemented by quarterly physical or virtual meetings.

Our expectation is that the client should be able to be entirely absent from financial management for extended periods – for example, during a training camp or at the end of a season – without anything being held up. This also means we have documented decision-making authority to act on behalf of the client within a defined framework agreed upon in writing beforehand.

One Point of Contact - not Blurred Responsibility

Each client is assigned one named partner as the primary contact and one secondary partner as backup. This is not a call centre and not a pool of relationship managers; these are two individuals who know the client's entire situation and are responsible for ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks.

When the primary partner is travelling, on holiday, or occupied, the secondary partner takes over with full context. The client experiences no difference. This is the service a family office structure is designed to deliver – and which distinguishes it from a standard wealth manager, where the client often ends up speaking to four different advisors in a week.

"Family office is not a title; it is a method of working. You call one place – we sort out the rest."
